When we landed in Melbourne after spending a little more than two weeks in the natural beauty that is New Zealand, I think we were a bit shell-shocked to be dropped back into civilization. Luckily, we headed out of the city the next morning for a road trip along The Great Ocean Road. We managed to outrun some clouds and ended up at the end of our trek, Port Campbell just before sunset. The Great Ocean Road is spectacular and we stopped along the way at some of the many famous beach towns Australia is known for. The further we drove along the coast towards Port Campbell, the Southern Ocean raged and the winds picked up to impressive gusts. The power and strength of the Southern Ocean was so overwhelming to witness in person. The strong winds and ocean waves helped carve out some of the magnificent cliffs along The Great Ocean Road and was so amazing to witness. As if that wasn’t enough, we were lucky enough to see a group of wild Kangaroos (apparently not that rare, but we were still very excited) off the side of the road and watched them all hop away, such a great introduction to the land down under!
