New Zealand: the South Island part 1

After a somewhat harrowing decent into Queenstown, landing between two mountains (simultaneously terrifying and breathtaking), Amy had literal tears in her eyes at the scenery that lay in front of us. Even before we landed, we could tell we were not going to want to leave. We planned to spend the bulk of our time road tripping through the famed south island and were ready to hit the ground running. We had big plans including a boat ride through the world-famous Milford Sound fiords, an epic hike for some panoramic views of Queenstown and strolling through lavender fields in Wanaka. The south island is pure magic and I wish everyone could experience this incredible place because it really is impossible to express just how pristine and stunning it is, you have to see it to believe it.
